Tiffield Academy shortlisted for Education Estates Award

The new three-storey SEND school in Tiffield, Northamptonshire, was commissioned by West Northamptonshire Council and is operated by Greenwood Academies Trust. Designed by Associated Architects, the project provides 250 places for children aged 4 to 18, creating a specialist learning environment for pupils with autism, speech, language and communication needs, and severe learning difficulties.

The school has been recognised for the way its design brings together inclusive education, wellbeing and sustainability, while responding carefully to its parkland setting. Safe and accessible outdoor spaces, renewable energy installations and a strong connection between the building and its landscape are central to the scheme.

Willmott Dixon, the project’s main contractor, submitted Tiffield Academy for the awards.

The Education Estates Awards celebrate excellence in the design, construction, management and maintenance of educational facilities, recognising outstanding projects and contributions across the sector.

For us, the shortlist is an opportunity to recognise the collaborative work that has gone into creating a school designed around the needs of its pupils and the wider community.

The winners will be announced at the Education Estates Awards in Manchester on 20 October 2026.
