The sensitive re-development of the University of Leicester’s “College Court”:http://www.www.associated-architects.co.uk/projects/education/universities/college-hall/ building has received the East Midlands 2014 RICS Conservation Award. Associated Architects completed work on the Grade II listed 1960’s Sir Leslie Martin and Trevor Dannatt building last year. The careful and respectful approach to the renovation of this former female student halls of residence was aided by consultation with Trevor Dannatt – the original architect, and Leicester City Council conservation & planning officers.
College Court is now a high quality, modern conference centre, with an Energy Performance Certificate rating of B, which provides the University of Leicester with 21st century hotel amenities and no loss of original character.
