We have been appointed to design a new centre for Birmingham Dogs’ Home, a local charity which rescues and cares for stray dogs from across the West Midlands and South Staffordshire. This exciting project will enable them to further develop their vital work of re-uniting lost pets with their owners and finding new homes for dogs that have sadly been abused or abandoned.
The new centre will deliver state-of-the-art facilities that will improve the quality of life for animals in the care of the Dogs’ Home. Passive environmental design, low-carbon technologies and natural materials will be used to ensure that the completed building is comfortable, energy-efficient and at the forefront of innovative and sustainable architecture. The centre will also provide generous visitor facilities to support the community outreach programme of the charity which focuses on making the principles of responsible dog ownership more widely known and understood.
