Yarm Music School Opening

Sunday the 18th September saw the official opening of the new Music School at Yarm School in Stockton-on-Tees. Will Todd; composer and pianist, officially opened the school after a two hour musical workshop with the pupils and and school choir.

The new school see’s the Music Department relocate from its current home to the new state of the art specialist music centre. The new 3 storey building sits adjacent to the Grade II listed Friarage and features a 130 seat, flexible lecture theatre, recording studio, ensemble room, specialist classrooms and instrumental music practice spaces including a drum room.

The music school forms the 5th phase in Associated Architects Masterplan for the school including the RIBA and Civic Trust Award winning, 800 seat, Princess Alexandra Auditorium.
