2 Cornwall Street Granted Planning

Birmingham City Council has granted outline planning consent for a major new office development at “2 Cornwall Street”:http://www.www.associated-architects.co.uk/projects/workplace/2-cornwall-street/. The site is currently occupied by Peat House, built in the late 1980’s for KPMG. The 200,000 sq.ft at the heart of Birmingham’s Central Business Centre is part of a major transformation in the Snow Hill and Colmore business districts.

A feasibility study by Birmingham-based Associated Architects, identified an optimum floorplate arranged around a central atrium, providing clear open workspace and good natural daylighting. The building will be a high quality, high value office, embodying best practice in line with the British Council for Offices ‘Guide to Specification’.

Matthew Goer, Director at Associated Architects said, _“As a Birmingham based practice, it’s always rewarding to be involved in major projects in our home city. The lack of planned office developments in the city makes this project all the more significant and we look forward to delivering a high-quality building that will support the growth of the Business District.”_
