10 Brindleyplace shortlisted for BCO Award

Great news that the Fitwell 2 Star Accredited, Wiredscore Platinum, BREEAM Excellent, EPC A  rated retrofit project, 10 Brindleyplace has been shortlisted for a British Council for Offices (BCO) Award.

The huge 210,000 square foot project saw the merging two buildings into one, and resulted in the creation of some of the largest floorplates in Birmingham, spanning an impressive 27,000 square feet each.

The retrofit of Brindleyplace has already earned several prestigious certifications, showcasing its commitment to sustainability, wellness, and advanced technology as a modern office environment. Notably, it became the first office building in Birmingham to achieve Fitwel accreditation, an esteemed standard that evaluates occupant health and well-being. These top certifications, along with the provision of high-quality Grade A office spaces, set a new benchmark in Birmingham’s office market, catering to the evolving needs of occupiers and ensuring a future-proof office environment. The building is already home to an amazing co-working space run by London-based Spacemade. 10X by Spacemade is an impressive 21,000 sq.ft co-working environment and marks the company’s first venture into the Midlands, adding to their portfolio of nine successful locations in London and Leeds.

Former home of Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), 10 and 8 Brindleyplace has undergone a remarkable transformation. The updated façade now presents a modern look, while the double-height reception area provides convenient access from both Oozells Square and Broad Street. The highlight of the project lies in the spacious, contemporary open-plan floorplates, boasting floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the interior with natural light.

The well-being and comfort of occupants have been paramount in the design of occupier amenities. From extensive roof terraces to fitness facilities such as a bouldering wall and fitness studio, every aspect has been carefully considered. The building also offers ample cycle storage for up to 100 bicycles, an on-site café, and electric vehicle charging points. Additionally, its prime location along the new West Midlands Metro route positions it perfectly, with a brand-new stop conveniently located opposite its Broad Street entrance.

This project is the direct result of the collaborative efforts of an exceptional project team. Birmingham-based Associated Architects, Willmott Dixon Interiors Workman, RLF, CPW, and Cundall have all played integral roles in ensuring the project’s success. CBRE and Savills are acting as joint agents for the office space.

10 Brindleyplace stands as a testament to Birmingham’s commitment to sustainable, wellness-focused, and technologically advanced office environments. This milestone achievement will undoubtedly contribute to the city’s continued growth as a vibrant business hub.
