Bruntwood SciTech’s first SMART-enabled building in the new Birmingham Knowledge Quarter has topped out. The ceremony was marked on the top floor of the, under-construction, building and led by Ric Burgess, Head of Construction at Bruntwood SciTech & Cliff Dennett, Head of Commercial at Innovation Birmingham.
Opening later this year, the 120,000 sq. ft new build will offer 10 storeys of 12,000 sq. ft floorplates providing contemporary, flexible office space designed with digital and tech businesses in mind.
Based in the city’s Knowledge Quarter, within 10 minutes’ walk of the city’s universities and 50,000 students, it’s the ideal place for companies wanting to access the tech community.
The Birmingham Knowledge Quarter will deliver 1.3m sq. ft of commercial and innovation space and create 3525 jobs. The area will become home to a number of key residential and mixed-use developments including our NetZero carbon ready project Curzon Wharf. The proximity to HS2 will link the Knowledge Quarter in Kings Cross to those in Birmingham and Manchester to create a Tech and Scientific corridor linking professionals in all three cities to amplify innovation.
