Our design of the Curzon Building for Birmingham City University was shortlisted at the 2016 RICS Awards in the ‘Design through Innovation’ category.
Although the project didn’t win an award it received a ‘Highly Commended’ accolade cited “as projects (that) impressed our panel of judges but were just pipped to the post by the winners on the night.” The awards, now in it’s 10th year was held at Aston Villa Football Ground in Birmingham and played host to over 250 attendees to celebrate some of the region’s best initiatives.
The Curzon Building forms the second part of Birmingham City University’s City Centre Campus based in Eastside of the city. The first building of the campus; Parkside, designed by Associated Architects won a West Midlands RIBA Award in 2014. The third phase; Plot 2a, received unanimous planning permission in at the end of 2015 and is due to complete in 2017.
