King’s School Boathouse in the AJ

In this week’s AJ, the “Michael Baker Boathouse”:http://www.www.associated-architects.co.uk/projects/education/independent/the-michael-baker-boathouse/ is the featured project in the Footprint section of the magazine; a sustainability feature led by Hattie Hartman. The five page supplement features photos, site & floor plans and a working detail segment, which looks closely at the prow section detail.

Hartman describes the Boathouse as _”Beautiful and fit for purpose – an exemplary project with a thoroughly considered environmental agenda.”_ Later she mentions how the _”Boathouse’s exemplary environmental agenda is simultaneously robust and imperceptible”_ stating it’s an _”approach more practices should adopt.”_

Footprint aims to seek out and celebrate buildings that are challenging the conventional architectural and construction norms, in turn hoping to raise the importance of sustainability within the industry.
