Groundbreaking at University Engineering School

Today saw the groundbreaking for the new School of Engineering which featuring a rail innovation centre at the University of Birmingham.

The new 136,500sq.ft  school will be built in conjunction with Willmott Dixon, Arup and Mace and is situated on the university’s main Edgbaston campus. It will feature nearly 27,000sq.ft dedicated to research partnerships with the rail industry as part of the UK Rail Research and Innovation Network (UKRRIN).

UKRRIN is a £92m partnership between the rail supply chain and eight universities with the project due for completion in 2020.
