Official Opening of McIntyre House

Yesterday saw the official opening of the University College Birmingham’s McIntyre House. The building, designed by Associated Architects was opened by HRH The Countess of Wessex, attended by the university staff, students and all involved in the project, including Director Warren Jukes.

The new build facility marks the first phase in the University’s new campus in the historic Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham, setting the benchmark for the quality of the campus. It provides over 7,200sq.m of teaching and learning space organised over four floor levels, with a 125 and a 250 person lecture theatre and a post graduate suite for 100 pupils.

The University commissioned two pieces of public artwork by renowned Italian born sculptor Lorenzo Quinn, “Leap of Faith” and “Gravity” to commemorate the opening.
