Associate Jonathon Chadwick was asked by the “Passivhaus Trust”:http://www.passivhaustrust.org.uk/ to present his ‘Scaling up Passivhaus’ paper at “Eco Build”:http://www.ecobuild.co.uk/, which ran from the 3rd to the 5th of March. The paper looks at how the principals of Passivhaus, which in this country has been used for primarily small scale residential schemes, can and should, be up scaled to suit larger projects.

Jonathon is currently delivering the “Centre for Medicine”:http://www.www.associated-architects.co.uk/projects/education/universities/medical-teaching-building/ at the University of Leicester, the £42m development is the largest Passivhaus building in England and will use renewable energy sources.

Jonathon said, _‘I believe that within the UK building sector Passivhaus is beginning to become a commonplace option for clients wanting to explore sustainability. We’ve been pushing it for many years and have numerous projects under our belt and an accredited Passivhaus designer. It’s was a pleasure to be considered a thought-leader and be asked to speak at Eco-Build.’_
