CBSO Centre receives Art’s Council funding

Associated Architects has developed proposals for the “CBSO Centre”:http://www.www.associated-architects.co.uk/projects/culture/cbso-improvement-to-facilities/ on Berkley Street to meet the contemporary demands of the orchestra and deliver a facility that is fitting for its audiences, partner organisations and workforce.

Plans for a £2.0m package of improvement works at the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra’s headquarters, rehearsal and small scale performance venue have taken a step forward following a successful Stage 2 application for grant funding of £1.2m from Arts Council England. Works are expected to commence in April 2014.

Associated Architects’ director, Ian Standing, said _‘We are delighted that the Stage 2 funding application has been successful and that we have been able to support the CBSO throughout the application process. By addressing the existing design and physical limitations of the building that restrict its use, we developed proposals that best meet the modern needs of the company and deliver a world class facility to support its on-going success’._
