Yarm Music School Granted Planning Permission

A new music school for “Yarm School”:http://www.www.associated-architects.co.uk/projects/masterplan/yarm-school-masterplan/ has been granted planning consent. The high quality contemporary building will sit adjacent to The Friarage, a Grade II listed building, which is currently occupied by the School’s administrative offices and arts department. The new building will contain a recording studio, music practice spaces, a lecture theatre, classrooms, instrument storage and staff offices. It is intended that the flexible lecture theatre will be used as a multi-purpose teaching space and also for school events and performances.

Barbora Bott, Project Architect said, _“We have a strong and productive relationship with the school, it’s exciting to be designing a further building for them. We hope that the new music school will be received as warmly as the Princess Alexandra Auditorium completed a couple of years ago.”_
