National Apprenticeships Week 2025 – Day 1 – Meet our Apprentices

Meet Our Apprentices!

As we celebrate National Apprenticeship Week 2025, we’re introducing the talented apprentices shaping the future of our practice in our Birmingham and Oxford offices. These five individuals are balancing hands-on project experience with academic study as they work towards their architectural qualifications.

🔹 Barbara (Year 1, Birmingham City University) – . With a keen interest in materiality and interiors, Barbara has contributed to the London Southeast Colleges – Plumstead Project, refining her skills in design detailing and real-world construction challenges.

🔹 Bethany (Year 2, Oxford Brookes University) – From delivering projects on-site to working on key bids and mentoring others through regional Women in Architecture events Bethany is making a name for herself as both a designer and an industry advocate.

🔹 Katy (Year 3, University of Nottingham) – With a background in residential and student accommodation, Katy is currently working on the Sherrington Building in Oxford, bringing her experience into large-scale educational projects.

🔹 Harvey (Year 1, Birmingham City University) – A passionate collaborator, Harvey enjoys competition projects and has developed a strong understanding of later RIBA stages, bridging the gap between conceptual design and construction.

🔹 Dylan (Year 1, Oxford Brookes University) – Gaining experience across multiple project stages, Dylan has recently worked on the Begbroke Building for the University of Oxford, expanding his expertise beyond planning and into the tender process

Throughout the week, we’ll be sharing more insights from our apprentices—what they’re working on, their experiences in practice, and the impact of mentorship on their journey. Stay tuned!
