Innovation Hub - University of Leicester

Innovation Hub wins craftsmanship award

Our redesign and refurbishment of an Edwardian house that belongs to the University of Leicester has been recognised for its internal work by the LJCC with a Craftsmanship Award. The award recognises both the contractor and the role played by the architect or supervising officer on the project.

The judges on the LJCC panel commented on the project:

“Refurbishment and alternations required to create an ‘Business Innovation Hub’ in an Edwardian building owned by the university. The scheme included some clever structural work for conversion into high-end offices, incubation and meeting rooms. Great care was taken to install mechanical and electrical services, new flooring, fire protection works, new glazed doors, new kitchens, new decorations, ironmongery and door access control, comprehensive joinery works throughout were all carried out to a very high standard and quality.”
