Planning Permission Granted, Solihull College

Planning consent for the extension of Woodlands Campus of Solihull College “(@solihullcollege)”:http://twitter.com/#!/solihullcollege was granted on 25th April by the unanimous agreement of all 9 members of Solihull MBC Planning Committee. The project was recognised as being strategically important to the development of skills in the North Solihull area and tackling unemployment in the Borough.

The new build component of the scheme accommodates and relocates a series of construction and expanded motor skills workshops and allows the College’s existing aerospace engineering department to expand within the existing building.

Enhanced community use of the site was also welcomed by the Committee with the inclusion of high quality sports fields that will be used by the College and available to the local community.

Construction starts on June 2012, for occupation in September 2013.
