“The WMG Academy for Young Engineers”:http://www.www.associated-architects.co.uk/projects/education/schools/wmg-academy was opened on Monday 15th September 2014. It is one of 30 new UTC’s, technical schools supported by Universities and industry partners offering unique learning environments for 14 – 19 year olds. It focuses heavily on teaching automotive engineering, ICT and digital technologies, placing an emphasis on learning through practical application. Over 40 key employers, including Jaguar Land Rover, IBM and the National Grid are with working with the lead sponsor The Warwick Manufacturing Group at the University of Warwick to develop the academy into a facility that allows students to thrive and develop the abilities that industry need.
