Women In Architecture Celebrations 2021

The Birmingham Architectural Association begins a week-long series of events to mark this year’s Women In Architecture and International Women’s Day. This year the exhibition of talented female architects in the region moves online. Our own Architect, BCO NextGen Committee Member, and RIBA Mentor Alexandra Slatter is amongst the talent being showcased.

A graduate of the Universities of Kent and Liverpool, Alexandra has worked with Associated Architects for 3 and a half years and is a member of the British Council for Offices (BCO) NextGen Committee. Predominantly working in the Commercial Office sector, she is an advocate for the sustainable retrofit of existing office buildings, working on a number of City Centre Office projects, including 1 Colmore Row, Platform 21, and 19 Cornwall Street. Her 4 St. Philips project made the BCO Awards shortlist for Refurbished/Recycled Workplace. Alex is a Mentor on the RIBA Future Architects programme aimed at providing students with the tools they need to successfully navigate their way into the architectural industry.
