Key Points
Three form entry school
Safer site circulation
Flexible learning spaces
Strong indoor outdoor connection
The school is arranged across two building blocks on a compact site, accommodating a three form entry junior school for 360 pupils while maintaining clear circulation and accessibility. A redesigned car park introduces a one way system and dedicated pedestrian routes, ensuring clear separation between vehicles and people to improve safety across the site. New cycle provision encourages sustainable travel for pupils and staff, embedding environmentally responsible habits into everyday school life. The layout also improves connectivity with neighbouring schools, making it easier for families with siblings to move between sites and strengthening the wider campus environment.
The school provides a wide range of educational spaces that support both traditional classroom teaching and practical learning.
A dedicated school library supports independent study and supplementary learning, while SEND facilities and group rooms create opportunities for focused breakout sessions and individual support. SEND provision is carefully located at ground floor level close to the staff cluster for ease of access. This includes the SEN resource base, group room and hygiene room, along with a dedicated entrance connecting directly to a secure outdoor SEN play space. Throughout the building, social learning spaces encourage collaboration and creative activity, supporting a more varied and engaging learning environment.
Double height spaces positioned near the main entrance support school events and wider community use, helping the building operate as a hub for local activity.
The main hall opens directly onto outdoor play areas, allowing students to move easily between indoor and outdoor spaces while maintaining supervision and safe circulation.
Sport and physical activity are central to the school’s design. The assembly hall and activity studio are separated by a sliding folding partition, allowing the spaces to operate together or independently depending on the school’s needs.
Around the building, landscaped and hard social spaces support informal play, outdoor learning and community gatherings, including a covered vocational space that allows teaching to continue outside in all weather.
