Management Team
Paul joined Associated Architects in January 2024, bringing with him extensive experience in higher education and the public sector. This spans a variety of building functions and including both new build and sensitive work to listed buildings, several of which have been shortlisted for RIBA, LABC and DFE awards
He has a passion for sustainability and has developed many schemes for clients whose focus is set on achieving net zero carbon buildings. Which exposed him to a wide variety of building types and different low energy design solutions. He is a Passivhaus Certified Designer and has worked with academics at University of Leeds School of Earth and Environment to study embodied carbon within construction projects on campus. Developing expertise which is now applied to early stage feasibility studies to assess the carbon cost of construction options, alongside the financial cost plan. He is also part of the LETI working group delivering the Higher Education section of the upcoming non-domestic retrofit guide.
Paul’s completed projects that include student residences, a £22 million capital project for Leeds Arts University’s delivered through a traditional contract, and multiple phases for Leeds University Business School culminating in the Esther Simpson Building.
