Matthew was with Associated Architects from 1990. He was made partner in 2001 and became a Director in 2003 when the practice formed an LLP. Matthew served as Managing Director from 2015 until his retirement in April 2021, when he became a part-time consultant.
Over his career, Matthew delivered a large portion of the practice’s education and commercial office work. He amassed over 25 years’ experience in creating exemplar office designs for both the public and private sectors, including; Argent at Brindleyplace, The Mailbox, RBS, Scottish Widows, and 10 Woodcock Street for Birmingham City Council. Many of his projects secured the practice national awards from the British Council for Offices and the Royal Institute of British Architects.
He has previously been the voice of the practice in many of its cultural activities.
