Dominic Kennedy

Position: Associate

Dominic joined Associated Architects in 2024, having previously worked at a design-led AJ100 practice. He was promoted to Associate in 2026.

Dominic completed his Part II qualification at the Leeds School of Architecture, having completed his Part I at Liverpool John Moores University. He completed his Part III qualification with RIBA North West to qualify as an architect.

He is an award-winning, job-running project architect with experience in the commercial, higher education, education and workplace sectors. He has a passion for creating vibrant and contemporary spaces to enhance mental health and wellbeing. As a project architect, he has worked across all work stages producing initial feasibility studies, concept designs, competition bids, planning applications, delivery of tender packages and construction information.

Experience

University of Leeds Health Sciences Library
A vibrant and inclusive study space within the existing Worsley building. The proposals champion wellbeing, whilst encouraging collaborative learning. Key features include five new rooflights to introduce natural daylight into the space, acoustic wall/soffit panels and biophilic interventions, such as moss walls / planting.

University of Leeds Security Hub
£10m refurbishment and IT infrastructure project of an existing building on campus for the security team’s CCTV Control centre. Extensive internal remodelling to incorporate a new lift shaft to improve accessibility. Enhanced wellbeing and support facilities are central to the command centre, office and breakout spaces.

Virgin Media O2 Office Space, Manchester City Centre
Delivery role for a Cat B £12 million Grade A office refurbishment fitout for 1,100 hybrid employees. The project comprised of open plan office, breakout, meeting and kitchenette spaces. A wide array of high specification finishes across walls, floors and ceilings were coordinated alongside complex MEP systems to achieve cohesive and well-considered outcome.
