Kings Hawford in Passive House Magazine

Associated Architects’ project “The Barn at Kings Hawford Junior School” in Worcester has been featured in Passive House+ Magazine this month.

The article focuses on St Gobain’s ‘Multi-Comfort’ standard applied to the project, described as “a holistic approach to constructing buildings to improve occupant comfort, health and well being.” This will be the first building in the UK to be built to these standards which surpass existing building regulations, incorporating the energy efficiency and thermal comfort of passive buildings but introduce new standards in audio, indoor-air and visual comfort to give teachers and students an ideal place work and lean. Research indicates that well designed acoustic environments in schools enhance concentration and help pupils and teachers to communicate more effectively.

The 450sq.m development is due for completion at the end of the year.
