Insider Awards Construction Project of the Year

The University of Birmingham’s School of Engineering was the recipient of Construction Project of the Year at the 2021 West Midlands Insider Property Awards.

The £47million Engineering facility on the Edgbaston Campus was built by Willmott Dixon and completed in 2020. Warren Jukes, Managing Director of Associated Architects said of the win,

We’re delighted that this project has been recognised with the Construction Project of the Year award,  the School of Engineering provided us the opportunity to design a beacon of engineering excellence, to attract the world’s best academics and students to the University of Birmingham. The project was a major engineering feat in its own right, and we take immense pride in this award and overcoming the challenges it brought”

The night also saw the practice Highly Commended in the Architecture Practice of the Year category judged on the practices contribution to outstanding projects for the region.
