Rhys joined Associated Architects in 2023 and was promoted to Associate in 2025. He undertook his Part I and II at the Newcastle University School of Architecture, before completing his Part III qualification with RIBA North West.
He brings with him over five years of post-qualification experience in a variety of sectors, including education, residential, mixed use, commercial, heritage, and retail projects. His work spans all RIBA stages and incorporates both new build and refurbishment projects.
Rhys has a particular interest in sustainability (he qualified as a Passivhaus consultant in 2021) and has a further interest in BIM Management and Coordination, having been heavily involved in the introduction and implementation of BIM in previous practices.
At Associated Architects he is currently leading the University of Leeds Faculty of Medicine and Health and Faculty of Biological Sciences Masterplan project for the faculties of Biological Sciences at Main Campus and Medicine and Health at St James University Hospital to develop inter-faculty research collaboration and consolidation of teaching. He is also involved in a new flagship building for Northumbria University.
