Old Union Mill

The surrounding area of the Old Union Mill is steeped in Birmingham’s industrial heritage. Our residential development for Mesterbrook Ltd is delivering 14 high quality apartments within an attractive, historical area off of the Oozells Street canal loop. The site was originally used for accommodation for the adjacent Grade II listed red-brick flour mill building. A recent project had unsuccessfully tried to integrate small studios and office space into a separate two storey building within the courtyard space.

Our design responds to its setting and will restore life and energy to the area. Our experience in redevelopment, conversion and working collaboratively with agents and developers puts us in a prime position to deliver an exemplar project. The existing mill building will be incorporated into the entrance to the development, with office spaces occupying its street facing side. Two new buildings will face each other across a landscaped courtyard.

At the Old Union Mill we are creating apartments that are full of character and generous with space. A mixture of 75 sq.m single bedroom units and 215 sq.m three bedrooms units offer; ensuite bath and walk-in showers facilities, walk-in wardrobes and combined living, dining and kitchen spaces.

Every unit within the Old Union Mill has a balcony or terrace space accessed through sliding glazed screens. Apartments within the four storey building overlook the canal basin of the Oozells Street loop. The position of the development places it on the doorstep of the city centre, close to fantastic entertainment and hospitality offerings.
