Planning consent has been received for the University of Leicester’s new “Medical Teaching Building”:http://www.www.associated-architects.co.uk/projects/education/universities/medical-teaching-building/. The new 13,000sq.m building will accommodate teaching, lecture and offices for research and medical academia and is designed to Passivhaus standards. The £30m project is programmed to complete in September 2015.
Construction work has completed on the new police station in Market Drayton. The existing 1930 building has been replaced with a sustainable and purpose built station, with Associated Architects working with the local planning authority to develop a contemporary design which is sensitive to the surrounding area. A large photograph of the new steps and green wall at The Mailbox canalside was used in The Guardian this weekend in an article about the record breaking temperatures in the UK over the weekend. Glad to see people using the steps as they were intended for…..chilling in the sunshine.
