Ben joined Associated Architects in 2017. He was promoted to Associate in 2024 and became a Senior Associated in 2026.

Ben is an experienced Project Architect, having designed and delivered a number of major projects for the practice. Ben’s major project experience at AA has been focused on several schemes at the University of Birmingham: Project Architect for both the new award-winning School of Engineering project and on the refurbishment of an existing School of Engineering building. He is now heavily involved in several new projects at early stages, having recently been involved in the delivery of the first phase of the Molecular Sciences complex and architectural lead on the new University station. He is also currently leading the development of a new leisure destination in Wolverhampton. At a previous practice in London he was Project Architect on a number of schools projects, including a primary school 2FE expansion and a new sixth form centre. He also has experience of SEN schools and residential schemes.

Ben is a leading member of the practice’s CPD and Green Team, a group with their fingers on the pulse for the latest thinking in areas such as: LETI, UK Green Building Council, Passivhaus Trust, BRE – Green Guide to Specification, and RIBA Sustainable Outcomes Guide. As well as our own project experience and an understanding of the latest sector best practice. Further disseminating knowledge to the rest of the practice, the Green Team examines all projects as part of the Design and Technical Review process. Identifying opportunities for sustainable approaches, reductions in embodied carbon, building physics improvements and applying lessons learnt, in order to develop a holistic understanding and recommendations to be subsequently presented to the client.
